Our Statement of Faith

We are a Jesus-centred, Bible-believing, Spirit-led church that aim to glorify God in all we do.

We believe Jesus has died to pay the penalty for our sin, offering us forgiveness through faith and repentance, saving us from eternal death and giving us eternal life. His resurrection proves He is who He said He was: God’s eternal Son and the Saviour of the world. We believe He will come again to judge the world and put all things right.

We believe every person is made in the image of God so deserves love and respect regardless of what they believe. We also believe we all have an important role to play using our gifts and abilities to minister to one another and serve the community. Further, we are all called to make disciples and share the good news of Jesus in this world with words, backed up by loving actions and signs and wonders.

We believe it’s important as ‘Kiwi Christians’ to both honour and seek to uphold the principles the Treaty of Waitangi and affirm that all cultures are equal and valuable in the eyes of God.

In all other theological matters, we would hold to Christian Orthodoxy, as is generally espoused in the Apostles’ Creed.

You can read more about what makes us Baptist here.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10
